Potts Pages - Wanna Trade?
August 12, 2016
Can you remember as a child trading something? Maybe, you traded baseball cards, pocket knives, an item of clothing or maybe it was your bologna sandwich for your friend’s peanut butter and jelly. We trade because we think we are getting the better deal or at least something that we prefer to have.
Potts Pages - Honor Your Parents as an Adult
August 05, 2016
I recently had a conversation with a friend about what it means to honor your parents as an adult. My friend’s father had given her some advice and expected it to be followed to the letter. She cringed at going against her father’s wishes even though she and I thought that it would be in the best interest of her and her family to do so. This got me to thinking about what God meant when he said “Honor thy father and mother” in the Ten Commandments.
Potts Pages - Now on Kindle
July 29, 2016
I think there is something special about holding an actual book in your hand when you read, but I also have a Kindle, and I like it too. I know some of you have already bought my book 101 Life Lessons From Uno (The One-Legged Duck), and I hope it has been a blessing. But, if you have been waiting for the Kindle version I wanted to let you know that this book has been released as a Kindle ebook this week.
Potts Pages - Meet Harriet
July 22, 2016
This week I want to introduce you to my friend Harriet Michael. She has a wide variety of life experiences that she brings to her writing. She has a beautiful smile and a beautiful heart. Let’s get to know Harriet and hear about her new book.
Potts Pages - Old or New-You Choose
July 15, 2016
There is something about us humans that causes us to like new things. Even as a child we like a shiny new penny or a new toy. As an adult, we shop because we like new things. Writers like a new blank page even if it is on the computer screen. This is why we like New Year’s Day. It is a chance for a do-over. We think we can forget about what we have messed up and get a fresh start.
Potts Pages - History Making Potential
July 08, 2016
I made a purchase today. I bought a new notebook. It cost a whopping two dollars plus tax. I know you are thinking one of two things. You are either thinking “so what” or you are thinking that I have finally run out of things to blog about. Stay with me; I promise I have a point.
Potts Pages - Happy Birthday, America!
June 30, 2016
This coming week we celebrate the Fourth of July. It is the time that we look back and reflect on the beginning of our nation and its independence.

We often complain about the condition that America is in now. We complain about the upcoming elections, the economy and on down the list.

This is Jessa, and I am guest blogging this week! Mom is currently attending the annual Kentucky Christian Writers’ Conference.

I recently returned from my youth group’s mission trip to Ruston, LA. It was a great week, and you could feel God working through the people in attendance.

Potts Pages - New Book
June 17, 2016
It has been a very exciting week for this writer. A long time dream has come true for me. My first book was released on Amazon. I wanted to give you a sneak preview. It is my prayer that this book will be an encouragement to those with disabilities or those just dealing with life’s struggles.

The following is part of the introduction explaining how 101 Life Lessons From Uno (The One-Legged Duck) got its name and an excerpt from the book.

Potts Pages - Count the Cost
June 09, 2016
I recently stopped at a fast food restaurant to get dinner to go. While I was waiting for my order, two athletic men came in and placed their order. These men were not teenagers. They were at least in their forties. They looked like that had been coaching a game or working out at the gym.
Potts Pages - Hallways
June 02, 2016
There are a lot of good motivational quotes that have been going around social media lately. Some of them are just feel good sayings. However, there is one that I believe is scripturally sound. It says, “Until God opens a door, praise him in the hallway.”

I have felt like I was in a hallway, lately. My daughter graduated in May. We are in the hallway waiting for college. My church is searching for a new pastor. We are in the hallway waiting for our next leader. I have some exciting things ahead in my life as a writer, but they are not here yet. I am in the hallway, waiting.

One of the things that I like to do when I am studying scripture is to look up the definition of the important words in the passage. It helps me understand and have a fresh perspective to see all of the definition.

If you remember anything about Miriam in the Bible, you probably remember her as the older sister of Moses and Aaron. She was the one who watched over baby Moses, in the basket, after his mother put him in the reeds on the bank of the Nile River. When Pharaoh’s daughter found him, it was Miriam, who got their own mother to nurse him and take care of him.
