I want to start my first blog of this year by thanking my faithful readers. I know you read and don’t always leave a comment. I do that too on some of the blogs that I read. That’s fine, but I would always like to hear from you. It blows my mind to think that I have been blogging for about a year and a half now. When I started, I intended that for the blog to be a mixture of devotionals, writing related and whatever else that I thought would be beneficial or fun to focus on. It seems that lately, it has been more devotional.
So, looking ahead to this year. I want to share some of the goals I have set for the blog. I want to, of course, keep doing devotions. I intend this year to look at some of the people of the Bible that are not the main characters, those that we don’t hear about so often. I also want to use some less familiar scriptures. There are wonderful messages in Habakkuk and Nahum just like there are in Psalms and Proverbs.
I also want to introduce you to more of my writer friends and the wonderful books that they write. I hope that you will check out their books to purchase for yourself or to give as gifts. One of the greatest joys of being a writer for me is the network of talented people that I meet, many who have become treasured friends.
I also hope to continue to share with you, lessons from everyday life. It’s amazing at the blog material that comes from people watching and just noticing what goes on around you. Please know that I am not claiming to be wise just observant. I also want to do some fun things this year like reminding you that January is International Creativity Month.
Finally, I want to be open to listening to you, my readers. If you have a question or a topic, you would like to discuss I would love to give it a try. I am not promising to have the answer, but I do promise to prayerfully seek to find what the Bible says about it.
Now finally, I ask for your help. If you read a blog or two that speaks to you or that you like, please share it. As you know, the best way to get the word out is by word of mouth. So, if you would, help me grow my readership. Let’s make this a great year!
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” (Hebrews 10:23-24) (ESV)
