Potts Pages - Already Done
March 23, 2016
This is Easter week. It is the time that we remember the death of our Savior but, more importantly, His resurrection.
The Bible gives us an account of three women on their way to the tomb where Jesus had been buried.
They were going to anoint the body of Jesus with burial spices. They were going to do what they thought was the last thing that they could do for their Lord. As they were going, they were wondering how they would remove the barrier that stood in their way. When they arrived, they found that it had already been taking care of for them. The stone was rolled away!
Just as these women, we sometimes have the answer before we even ask the question. How many times in our lives do we worry about how to move stones that have already been rolled away? How often do we imagine obstacles that are no longer there?
We serve a resurrected Christ, who is not going to let a stone stand in the way of what he wants to do. The women came to the tomb with a heart to serve and found all they ever needed. This Easter pray for those around you. Pray for situations in your own life. Pray with faith believing in a powerful, mighty, resurrected, stone moving God that can change circumstances and break down barriers.
In his book, *bold* *He Still Moves Stones*, Max Lucado says, “The stone was moved not for Jesus but for the women; not so Jesus could get out but so the women could see in!”… “Is the trail too dark? Don’t sit. Is the road too long? Don’t stop. Is the night black? Don’t quit. God is watching. For all you know right at this moment he may be telling the angel to move the stone. The check may be in the mail. The apology may be in the making. The job contract may be on the desk. Don’t quit. For if you do you may miss the answer to your prayers. God still sends angels. And God still moves stones.”
“Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise they were on their way to the tomb, and the asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw the stone which was very large had been rolled away.” (Mark 16:2-4) (NIV)
