March 02, 2016
On treasure maps, X marks the spot, but it’s the arrows that show the way. If you were looking for treasure, you would wonder aimlessly not knowing which path led you to your destination if it were not for the arrows.
Where else do you see arrows? Roads have arrows. Do you remember the old movies where arrow is pointing the way to place the person wants to go but someone sinister comes along and changes the sign to point a new direction?
Our lives are arrows. Hopefully, we would never point anyone the wrong way on purpose, but we need to be sure that the arrow of our life is pointing the right direction.
One of the most familiar arrows on the road is the one-way sign. This sign signifies that you should only go the way the arrow is pointing. Sometimes roadway arrows can be obscured by bushes and not clearly seen. This can cause confusion and increase the probability of going the wrong way.
Can others tell which way your arrow is pointing? Polls have shown that many are turned off of Christianity because the say they see no difference in Christians and the world. There should be a definite difference in the way our lives look and those of nonbelievers. We should have more peace, more joy, more comfort in times of sorrow, and always more love.
How sad it would be if someone missed the way because they can’t see clearly which way our arrow is pointing. With all the arrows in the world today, we need to be sure that the arrow of our lives says one way. Jesus is that way!

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.’ “ (John 14:6) (NIV)
