If you look throughout the Bible, God was always calling people to something or someplace new. He called Abraham to leave his home and go to a new place so that he could make him the father of many nations.

He called Moses to lead his people out of Egypt. Remember all the excuses that Moses had? He was sure God had the wrong guy, but God was sure that he wanted to use Moses for this task.

As Jesus called his disciples in the New Testament, his command was simple. It was, “Follow me.” God’s call to something new was always a call to something greater than what they could accomplish on their own.

He issues the same call to us today. He asks us to follow him into the unknown. He asks us to follow him to something greater than we could manufacture on our own. When we obey that call, we will experience God in a way that we never have before. We will see that he a big God and can equip us to do great things

When we take a step of faith into something new, it allows us to know more of God’s character and what he is capable of in our lives.

A quote from C.S. Lewis in his work Prince Caspian expresses it this way:

“Aslan" said Lucy "you're bigger".
"That is because you are older, little one" answered he.
"Not because you are?"
"I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”

Every time we grow, we will find God bigger. He is capable of so much more than we have seen him do so far. The way we grow is to step into whatever he is calling us to do.

Let’s live with big faith in a big God and follow him to accomplish things that we haven’t even dreamed of yet. What new thing does God want to use to reveal how big he is your life? Can you hear him saying, “Follow me?”

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20) (NIV)
